Gransfors Bruks Large Splitting Axe is designed for splitting chunks of
wood, “rounds”. The large splitting axe, with 3-1/2 lb. head, 3”
face & 27” handle, is a superb general-purpose firewood maker. A
steel collar beneath the head reinforces the handle against impact with
the wood. Note this axe’s poll is not hardened for use as a sledge and
it is not designed to pound on a wedge. The axe is
provided with a grain-leather sheath with a snap fastener. A
36 page Axe book is included with each purchase. 20
