The Gransfors
Bruks Splitting Hatchet's blade starts off concave and fairly thin,
allowing easy penetration into the wood, subsequently the thickening axe
head exerts enormous splitting pressure. The small splitting axe, with
2-1/2 lb. head, 2-1/2” face & 16” textured hickory handle, is
ideal for splitting kindling & smallish stove wood. It is designed
for one-handed use. Note this axe’s poll is not hardened for use as a
sledge. The axe is provided with a grain-leather sheath with snap
fastener.
