What are Oversize
Products?
Many of our products
come in odd shapes and sizes resulting in additional shipping and
handling charges. Oso Grande uses the rate calculations found in the
applicable shippers rate and service guide to calculate rates on
oversize product. Different rules apply depending on the service
selected.
Shipping of tents, grills, coolers,
canoes, swords, spears, staffs and other oversized or heavy items costs
extra. Be sure to read the special shipping information that appears on
the product page, or on the purchase agreement page which you'll see
when you place the item in your shopping basket.
Boxes or containers
that are not rectangular must be measured to determine dimensional
weight. Shipping costs are calculated based on dimensional weight not
actual package weight. Packages that exceed weight and size limits are
subject to an Over Maximum Limits charge.
Dimensional weight or
DIM weight is the standard term used throughout the airfreight industry
and applies to all service options, which may involve an aircraft.
Calculations of dimensional weight are based on volumetric standards.
