The Condor Greenland Pattern Axe measures 15" overall and features a 5.5 inch axe head with a 3.625 inch cutting edge. The Axe head is constructed of 1045HC steel with a black Condor Classic finish. Forged to a thin, curved bit and sharpened to make it suitable for cutting branches of fresh, resinous wood, spruce or pine. The 15.5 inch handle is made of straight grained American hickory which is unsurpassed for absorbing the shock of hard chopping. This Axe includes a heavy-duty protective leather sheath.

Beautifully made. Nicely sharp right out of the box. Very nice sheath a little snug but it does get in there and snap nice and tight. Its quite well built and seems to hold up to abuse. Overall a quality piece and Im very pleased. Its definitely one of my favorite axes and a go to for my bugout bag.
Just after ordering, I realized the description and model number fitted the acid etched model, not the "classic" like the picture. I tried to cancel but I was too late. To my surprise, when I received it well. I GOT THE CLASSIC! I am so happy right now haha. The finish on the head looks different than what I have seen on pictures but it does look great. Decently sharp and polished edge, would need some work for fine carving. Sheath : Heavy duty genuine leather, nice dark color too. A bit too tight on the strap but it's starting to stretch to a good fit. Handle is sanded very fine and has no varnish, which is perfect if like me, you prefer to oil your handle. Came in a nice box with a very decent shipping time to eastern Canada. Bottom line good buy time will tell about the quality of steel but I have heard good things about this little guy. Would buy again.
