Appropriately named "Hand Axe" I got this baby at a local store and the salesman told me "Life Time Warranty, if you break it SOG will replace it." I said, "I'm going to break it." Well, maybe not so fast. I spent two years batoning this thing through Fir, Aspen, and Oak heating my mountain cabin. I really tried to break it, but was unsuccessful. The tang is full and extends beyond the grips; not entirely comfortable, but if you get it stuck just pound on the extended tang that is extended beyond the circumference of the handle. You won't mar the handle and you will not break the blade. I beat the crap out of this thing and on my third year it still eats wood like a chuck. Very underrated and nicely priced. One of the best backpacking axes on the market!

SOG makes good stuff so I wasn't surprised when this arrived and I liked it. It is thinner than I thought it would be but seems very durable still and it is lightweight. This will make a great axe for a backpacking trip.
