Victorinox Forschner 40251 Slicer, 14 Inch Wide Granton Edge Blade, 1.5 Inch at Rosewood Handle. With the Victorinox 40251 slicer knife it's easy to carve perfect, precise cuts of ham, pork, fish, beef, and much more. Longer and narrower than common carving knives, the slicing knife is an excellent choice for long, smooth strokes and can make quick work of larger portions of product. The stamped construction incorporated in the making of this knife make for a much thinner, lighter blade. The 14 inch Granton edge blade is engraved with small alternating scallops that make separating meats, vegetables, and cheeses smooth and easy.
It has a rosewood handle, adding a touch of class to any culinary setting. As with all Victorinox knives, the handle is ergonomically designed to minimize wrist tension and provides a natural fit. Hand-washing of wooden handles is recommended.
The blade has an exceptionally keen, razor-sharp edge. The high carbon, stainless steel blade is hand finished by skilled craftsmen at Victorinox in Switzerland. A special tempering process is used to produce an edge that can be resharpened over and over again. Each Victorinox knife is stamped from a single sheet of metal. The blade is then hardened, tempered, ground, polished, etched and finished.
This Victorinox product, which is made in Switzerland, has been marketed in the U.S. under the R.H. Forschner brand name since 1937. As of 2009, it is now being sold in the U.S. under the Victorinox brand name. It was Forschner 40251, and is now Victorinox 40251.
It's easy to write, when all you do is tell the truth. I personally do not believe you have any competition. Your attention to detail, superb staff, extraordinary products, phenomenal service, and outstanding prices ensure that. The professionalism that you all exhibit is the benchmark all others will have to try and measure up to... Perhaps not impossible, but daunting to say the least. In having you as an "aiming point," the industry will have to improve, if it wants to even approach you, and your company... The end result will be better for everyone. Please keep-up the great work.
