ESEE Knives Advanced Fire Kit. The ESEE Advanced Fire Kit is a "last-ditch" modular fire starter and mini survival kit container that includes a 20mm Grade A button compass, IR Glint Tape (USA model only) and Visible Light Reflective Tape with survival tips printed on the body. The watertight capsule has plenty of storage space for tinder, fishhooks, line and other essential survival tools (user supplied). The Fire Kit can be clipped to a belt or vest via the lanyard, carried in your pack or put in the glove box of your vehicle. The compact size and light weight make this kit a very unique survival tool for hikers, adventurers, campers, hunters or anyone else who ventures into the wilds.

A quality item with limitless potential. I bought one extender to add to the capacity. The fire steel/rod in my unit is too long. If the caps are tightened completely the open end of the rod will break the glass dome of the compass. The rod makes contact and mars the glass 3/4 of a turn from being fully tight. I called Esee and the fellow "in the know" found it hard to believe; but said to file or cut a small piece off the end. I like to canoe fresh water and camp/hike the beach. Moisture is a ferro rod's enemy. The advanced fire kit seals the rod from moisture, extending its life. By the way, the extender piece ONLY. Fits the advanced fire kit, NOT the standard one.

It works great at starting fires and I like the compass feature. My only negative is that I would like to have a striker included so I don't have to the spine of my knife.

I HIGHLY recommend this seller! I had an issue, and customer service really went out of their way to correct the situation! I received my item quickly and safely. The item was BETTER than described/anticipated! I am a VERY happy (repeat) customer! Will buy from again!
