United Cutlery 1265 Lord Of the Rings Glamdring Sword. An ancient sword carried by Gandalf the White, who is an old and powerful wizard and friend to Frodo Baggins. He joins Frodo and the other selected member of the "Fellowship" as they cross Middle-Earth in an effort to reach Mount Doom and destroy the Ring. Glamdring, a magical sword serves Gandalf in his mission to aid the Fellowship of the Ring. It was made by ancient Elves, and is inscribed with Elven runes that say "Turgon Aran Gondolin, Tortha gar a mathaGlamdring, Vegil Glamdring gud daelo, Dam an Glamhoth" which translates to "Turgon king of Gondolin, weilds, has and holds the sword Glamdring, Foe of Morgoth's realm, Hammer of the Orcs".
This authentically detailed sword is a reproductions of the sword carried by Glamdring and is prominently featured in "The Lord of the Rings" film trilogy. This beautifully designed sword, with an overall length of 47-5/8", features a solid metal crossgaurd with a single blue jewel and a pommel engraved with Elven Ruins. The handle is inlaid with wire and features a genuine leather wrapped grip. The 36" blade is crafted of 1/4" wood wall display plaque adorned with Elven designs and runes. The Glamdring sword has been finished to reflect the aged look as seen in the film so distressed or worn features are correct and not a defect. The Scabbard is white as carried by Gandalf when he became Gandalf the White.
