The P-38 Can Opener is a key chain sized and consists of a short metal blade that serves as a handle (and also a screwdriver to the resourceful), with a small, hinged metal tooth that folds out to pierce the can lid.
This lightweight, simple can opener can be a life saver In an emergency. The P-38 is less expensive, smaller, and lighter than the average can opener, making it a good fit for small kits or as a backup opener. Each is small enough include in any pack or attach to your keyring so it is always at the ready... stick an extra in your glove compartment, tackle box, travel gear, survival kit, stored canned goods or emergency supply kit. This is a keychain-sized folding can opener, that has been issued to US servicemen for ages. As far as I know, the military has made two versions of folding can openers, the P-38 (smallest) and the P-51 (largest).
This is the genuine USA made, military version. They are great to take camping, or to have in an emergency bag. They take up next to no space, weigh next to nothing, yet will open any tin can I have ever tried them on.
