Very Small -- And That's a Good Thing. This travel razor packs down into a very, very small package. The picture doesn't do it justice. Yet when assembled, it's "almost" a full-size razor. I just received it today, and haven't had a chance to shave with it yet. So far, it exceeds my expectations. I'll update my review after I've tried it a few times.
The Year of Shaving Dangerously. This was my first venture into shaving with a double-edge safety razor, and it was well worth it. This travel Merkur has a great feel and weight to it. I like the smaller handle - your hand gets right up to your face, and you feel like you have a great deal more control. If you have bigger hands, though, the small handle might not work for you. The travel aspect is great. The two sections of the handle detach and fit inside one another, and take up no room at all in the pouch. The blades are so inexpensive compared to the cartridge systems that I think this pays for itself after two blade purchases. I'm very satisfied.
