In extreme close quarters encounters where a suspect is attempting to take an officer's handgun, or an officer cannot access his handgun, the TDI knife is available as a "last option" knife. When worn on the pant belt the entire unit - knife and sheath - is well concealed. Designed by John Benner, founder and owner of Tactical Defense Institute. This knife has a black coated blade and black handle. The sheath is specifically designed to fit police officer's pant belt (1.675" wide) on the opposite side of firearm.

Sheath was NOT the belt loop as advertised but a metal belt clip. It is not suitable for LE duty use, it is not secure and is too bulky to wear under a gun belt. It also detached and came loose. If during a struggle the suspect would have your knife. Do Not Buy with metal clip sheath - Officer Safety Issue.
I bought this knife to use as a backup knife. It fits perfectly behind the magazine pouch and allows for a quick draw and the handle is perfect for weapon retention. Before I purchased the knife, I thought it may be a bit small, but , I quickly realized it's the perfect size for its intended use.
The knife comes extremely sharp; during practice, I did slice my little finger so be careful. The knife comes with both a plastic sheath with a belt clip attached. Highly recommend!

The Ka-Bar TDI Law Enforcement knife is small easily wear on the ankle or discretely in the waistband or under your duty gear. Over all a great little back up knife!
