KA-BAR 5016 Kydex Sheath Only for Short Ka-Bars. The Kydex Sheath for Short Ka-Bars is resistant to impact, corrosion, and abrasion, it provides great all-weather performance, and it is imperviousness to most chemicals, petroleum-based products, and moisture, including salt water. Fits all short Ka-Bar knives.

The Kydex sheath holds the Knife by custom-contoured knife cavities and friction bars on the back of the sheath. The sheath also has heavy-duty polypropylene belt loop and securing straps, plus a slip lock on the belt loop for a flexible and secure tie-down.

This is a must have if you get the short ka-bar knife. While the Ka-Bar does come with a leather sheath the leather sheath is very basic and does not offer many carry options. Just not adequate for me. But this sheath is perfect. Can be worn on either side and offers a multitude of options for mounting it on a pack.

Perfect fit for the 5 1/4 in. Kabar. Offers more protection than the leather sheath it came with. I was hoping to be able to use this sheath in a horizontal position carry but you cannot out of the box. Have to rig it for that. Over all it is great.

Good alternative to the leather sheath. The quality of the sheath is very good. built very well. I have several ka-bar knives with this type of sheath. I ordered this to replace a leather sheath that came with one of my ka-bars. just make sure the sheath you are ordering is a fit for your knife.

Seems to be well made. Holds my knife securely. I like that it is ambidextrous.

This is a much better choice for a kabar blade than the leather type sheath- safer in you keep your blade razor sharp it can shed and poke through leather over time just from drawing it for use so a hard sheath is recommended especially if you are carrying it regularly on your belt.

Bought this for my small kabar. Fits perfect and has a nice locking mechanism on it. Must have to replace the leather sheath.
