Lord of the Rings
United Cutlery Hobbit Glamdring The Sword of Gandalf, 35.25 Inch Blade, UC2942. In the Third Age of Middle-earth, the old and powerful Wizard Gandalf and his Company of Dwarves came upon a troll lair in Rhudaur. The sword named Glamdring was forged by the high Elves of the West, in the hidden city of Gondolin. Glamdring survived, only to be found thousands of years later by Gandalf and his companions. This authentically detailed replica is a reproduction of the actual filming prop built by Weta Workshop of New Zealand and used in the motion picture, THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY. United Cutlery, industry leader in fine movie reproductions, has meticulously recreated the prop using only the finest grade materials and craftsmanship. Close attention to detail was a top priority. The Glamdring sword is 47 5/8 overall, featuring a 35 1/4" stainless steel blade, solid metal hilt parts, faux blue jewel inlays, and a genuine leather-wrapped grip. It is presented with a wood wall display and includes a certificate of authenticity.

The blade is well crafted, perfectly straight, with no flaws and a wonderful brushed steal finish. The crossbar is also metal and engraved perfectly with the ruins shown in the movie. The Hilt is nicely weighted and wrapped in a leather, or faux-leather material around the hand grip. The entire sword has a good weight (around 8lbs.) and feels like an authentic medieval style sword (there is no way Ian McKellen was swinging this thing around in the LoTR movies one handed). I do not know for certain if the blade tongue runs all the way to the base of the hilt, but they are connected solidly and there is no movement between the hilt and blade.
Perfection for both product and transaction. Thank you.
