The spade folds back, revealing a textured head to be used as a hammer for pounding in tent stakes. The Gorge is lightweight and packable for back-country camping and hiking.
The Gerber Gorge Folding Shovel features a spade made of heat treated carbon steel, with a non reflective black finish, that measures 6" long by 4.5" wide. The glass filled nylon handle has a textured overmold for secure grip, a cross hatched square hammer area, an easy push button slide mechanism and a hanging hole. A black nylon drawstring storage bag is included. The Gerber Gorge Folding Shovel has an overall length of 15.75" extended, folds to 8.125", and weighs 28 ounces.
