Good quality lightweight great value balanced blade. Will use this as my camp knife in the Selkirks.
As mentioned in other posts this knife is awesome. The black finish looks good and is very tough. The knife feels awesome in hand-- the handle is comfortable and gives a good grip and fits my large hand perfectly. It came EXTREMELY sharp. The new sheath is a vast improvement over the old sheath. It can be mounted vertically or horizontally and also has tabs to affix it to your pack or tactical vest. It swings fast like a machete but it has the cutting ability of a good fixed blade. Definitely a multi-purpose knife that you will want to take with you on all your outdoor adventures. Buy it!
This is a great multi-purpose knife. It's light but thick and it has an excellent grip on the Kraton handles. The blade shape is excellent and I really like the full flat Grind. The 5160 has great edge retention. The price is a true bargain, especially when you consider it is made in the USA. Highly recommend!
The knife is really light and responds quick in ones hand. The guard is kraton. That did not really impress me too much. The knife does come very sharp out of the box. Capable of cutting hair so that is a good thing. The sheath was so hard to clamp together that I had to stretch the strap. I think that it will get easier once it is worn in.
This knife does everything you need it to do within reason. It is strong enough for wood work, but easily light enough for defense work. That is not an easy balance to achieve but Ontario manages it with this knife. Price - I would pay it again and honestly believe this knife is easily worth more.
This is a well made and highly functional knife. It is easy to sharpen and holds a good edge. It is light and lively yet strong enough for performing all your needed camp chores. I recomend this knife for anyone looking for a long lasting knife.
This is an superb combat knife. The light weight is perfect for fast movements and gives the knife the perfect weight and balance. The steel is awesome-- I Love 5160. The sheath is O.K.-- functional but could certainly be better. The handle is comfortable. The blade came extremely SHARP. The size is perfect and you just cannot go wrong. Ontario hit a grand slam with the Spec Plus Gen II line. The are truly one of the best knives for the money anywhere. I'd buy it again.
