Awesome light weight hand axe my new hike buddy chops like a monster and throws pretty good hooks for self defense. Durable, light and awesome. Will be ordering more for the little ones. Already debating who gets it in the will. lol

I own nearly all of Cold Steel's hawks and when I saw this I had to have it and I can say I was not disappointed. This thing is a beast granted it needs some modifications just as all the others have. Once I get it stripped, blued, throw the POS set screw away (DONE!!!), stained, head set the proper way it will be one of the main tools I will have with me on camping trips with my friends and family. If your are trying to decide whether you want to buy it or not, I'd seriously recommend dropping the $35 on it and add it to your collection.

Hawk came in,I knew that the wood would be white and that I would stain it a dark maple,the hawk head was secured tight on mine,was not too dull but had to hone it,now it shaves hair,but sad that it was made in taiwan,but all in all very happy with it.now

Very disappointed! First Cold Steel item I've received that was dull. It literally bounced off a white oak stump. Head will not stay secure. If you don't have time to sharpen and re handle, don't bother.

Good axe head, needs to be sharpened, handle won't stay tight on mine, and please, please stop putting set screw holes on your axe/hawk heads, cold steel, please! For the price, I highly recomend getting one.
