I bought another for a second home that we also rent, to keep in my locked closet so I always have a good knife. This size is great if you only want to have one knife though I also own several other sizes from paring knife to bread knife. I have used Chicago Walnut for years. They are comfortable in the hands, and sharpen easily. DO NOT EVER put in the dishwasher, and try to avoid soaking - instead clean up promptly. If you do see the handle is a bit dry, rub it with oil (I just use vegetable oil). Use your honing tool to keep the edge, and occasionally you will actually need to sharpen.

I have been trying to find this particular knife for a while to replace my 43 year old one. Yes they do last, and hold a good edge. Fit my hands great too! We all have certain tools we like.this is a favorite of mine. Great quality. But my husband did have to sand down the rough edges on the wood handle.

My 15 year old 62S has always been a favorite knife of mine, so I was pleased to see they were still being produced. Upon receipt however, I noted the sharp edges on the wooden handles, very uncomfortable to grip. I had to sand the edges down to be acceptable, and also treated the wood with some canola oil. Now they are comparable to my original 62S.

I inherited one of these from my daddy, who was a great fisherman. It really does the job.
