KA-BAR 1217I-1 Full-size Unmarked Brown Leather Sheath for Fighting Knife (Fits most Knives w/ Blades up to 7 Inches) KA1217I

This is a decent leather sheath at a really good price. The handle keeper snap strip was a little tight at first but stretched right out after I put some neatsfoot oil on it and snaped it over the handle and then slowly over hours/days pushed the handle up so a thicker part of the handle was under the strap. Now it's perfect. The leather is fine. You can tell it's not top quality, but its probably better than you should get for the price.
The length of the sheath is actually right for the 7" ka-bar. It is a little longer than it needs to be but that is because there is a hole in the bottom for a lanyard so it has to be a little long. The tip of the blade on my knife comes just to the top of the hole, so it is the right length. I like it better than the weird blocky plastic sheath that came with my ka-bar.

The handle snap, sheath reinforcement buttons and stitching are of a nice quality and nicely done.
Others have complained about the handle strap being to tight, this sheath was as well, however, you can apply some Turner sling preservative or similar product and warm air to melt the preservative, it will soften up the sheath. Then put the knife in the sheath and stretch snap form the strap to the handle letting it sit overnight you'll be fine.
It would have been nice to know it's made in Mexico, and it does not have a wide enough stand off at the sheath opening and the guard so the knife will resist and very prominently rub against the belt hanger when you take the knife in and out of the sheath.
