It is a beautiful knife and for the money I don't think you can get a better knife! Affordable and made in America with a lifetime warranty what more do you need to know? This will be perfect to skin a deer but feels nimble enough to do more detailed work. I wanted something that was smaller than a survival knife but still able to do some bigger things if needed and more suited to skinning animals. This is exactly what the Buck 105 is. It came fairly sharp but it sharpened up more fairly easy.
