When a challenge turns into a classic. We asked designer Ken Steigerwalt if he was up for designing a knife around the time-tested CRKT® innovation, the Glide Lock. He accepted and downright delivered. The Psych™ everyday carry folding knife is proof that around remarkable function can be built equally hardworking form.

Ken Steigerwalt attacked our challenge head on from his shop in Orangeville, Pennsylvania. The stunning, balanced folding knife that is the Psych™ was his first iteration: proof that a calculated master needs no do-overs. The high-carbon stainless steel spear point blade is inspired by those used in WWII. With one false edge and a blood groove (fuller), the blade is built for whatever the garage can throw at it. It’s balanced by a G10 handle for excellent grip. The Glide Lock keeps the blade securely closed until you push the safety button down, slide the bolster locking mechanism up, and deploy the blade. Slide the bolster back down to lock the blade in place. To release, push the safety button once again and slide the bolster locking mechanism out.
