OK7500PC: Blackbird SK-5 Noir Wilderness Survival Knife #7500PC
Ontario Knife Company

The Blackbird Survival Knife by OKC won Field and Stream Magazine's "Best of the Best" award in 2011, now it has been upgraded with a non-reflective and rust resistant black epoxy powder coating. The design of the SK5 Blackbird Noir is clever but simple design, making the SK-5 an essential tool for hardcore bushcrafters and starting woodsmen alike. The Black Bird series was designed by custom designer and sheath-maker Paul Scheiter for maximum performance with an elegant simplicity and the signature elements of a center point blade, straight back profile, and flat heel for maximum utility.

The Blackbird SK-5 Noir blade is crafted from 154CM. This steel is American made, known for its superior toughness, edge-retaining ability, sharpness and corrosion resistance. The SK-5's blade is 0.13 inch thick and features a full-taper grind. The perimeter of the Micarta handle is rounded to provide a comfortable grip and is secured to the knife tang with stainless steel Allen screws. The Blackbird SK-5 comes with a MOLLE compatible sheath that features a rigid protective insert. The sheath also features a belt loop so that it may be worn on the hip in the traditional belt mount configuration. Proudly made in the U.S.A.

The original Black Bird SK5 was nice. These dull painted blade one's are complete garbage especially the one's with the (crap) supposedly upgraded G-10 handles.

I waited over a month for delivery but after receiving the knife I am very happy. It is well made, rugged, and the blade maintains it's edge very well. The sheath is well made as well and came with the knife. I can see why this was chosen for use by the military. Very nice product.

it's great I've been looking for something for a long time and will enjoy this one for along time

One of the best all around knives I've ever used. It doesn't have anything fancy like some gimmicks, but anyone who actually uses knives in the woods doesn't really need things like built in whistles and hollow handles. It's plain and to the point like a good knife should be. I love the center-line spear point, it works well for bow drill boards. Good edge, dresses medium sized game well. For me this is the perfect knife.

It's easy to write, when all you do is tell the truth. I personally do not believe you have any competition. Your attention to detail, superb staff, extraordinary products, phenomenal service, and outstanding prices ensure that. The professionalism that you all exhibit is the benchmark all others will have to try and measure up to... Perhaps not impossible, but daunting to say the least. In having you as an "aiming point," the industry will have to improve, if it wants to even approach you, and your company... The end result will be better for everyone. Please keep-up the great work.
