The Spyderco Para-Military2 has several changes. The handle has been narrowed for improved the ergonomics. The (closed) blade profile is more streamlined, eliminating any angles to catch or rub in a pocket. Ambidextrously friendly four-way clip carries tip-up/tip-down, left/righthand and rides lower in the pocket. Spyderco lengthened the blade's tip and added more surface jimping. A larger lanyard hole for a broader variety of attachment options. Implementation of the Spyderco Bushing Pivot System generates fluid action and more consistent manufacturing tolerances. The blade has been upgraded with a high performance CPM-S30V steel full-flat ground blade with a lengthened blade tip and additional surface jimping on both the spine and finger choil. The Spyderco jimping is just plain awesome when it comes to giving you a rock-solid grip and control of the blade and the lockup of the Spyderco Compression Lock is solid and convenient. A larger fluted lanyard hole provides more carry options.
Overall, refinements to the construction may not be drastic or even visible to the eye but from the G-10 textured handle to the CPM-S30V steel full flat black blade, everything is sharper, smoother and guaranteed to provide performance and user comfort.

If you are looking for an EDC knife for yourself or as a gift, you need look no further. buy this one. This knife is solid. This is replacing my Spyderco Police knife that I gave to my son (5 years old) and at first, I was a little skeptical about the composite material used due to my Police version being all stainless steel. Hands down this knife is a beast, it is obviously lighter, and the deployment on this is as fast as an assisted blade. Out of the box razor sharp, and the beautiful feature of Spyderco knives is they keep their edge for a very long time. I use this blade for everything, camping, fishing, everyday stuff and its solid. The clip is great, stays in your pocket with no problems. This blade will last many years to come, maybe give it to my grandkids one day.
This is my favorite knife in my collection. I carry it everyday and it has held up well. It feels good in my hand and I really like the compression lock. Highly recommend.
I own this knife. Spyderco did an outstanding job with this one. Ergonomics are excellent and the blade steel is fantastic. it takes and holds an edge as well as any other knife in my large collection. I really can't say enough good things about this knife except to say that I will ALWAYS own one. Get it and you will not be disappointed.
The P2 is a really super knife, especially if you work or spend alot of time outdoors. I've had mine for several months and have used it on a daily basis and it is still very sharp. Lockup is really good and I like the fact that you don't have to turn the knife over to close it like on a liner lock. Simply push the compression lock with your thumb and give a quick snap of the wrist and it closes. The more I use it the more I like it!
