I'm not afraid of a little sharpening, so I worry much more about knife design than knife material. This is the highest quality folder I've had, with the second best design. I've only had it for a couple weeks. The design is pretty good. I don't expect it to fall apart on me (as did my last cheap folder). I'f you're looking for a slim knife, you may want to consider something else. It's a little bulky, though I like it that way. It gives me more to hold on to. I whittled a stick with it for about ten minutes and didn't notice any dulling.
