In those 25 years, they have continually been refining their designs, discarding features that didn't perform as well as they would have liked and enhancing those that did. These blades, and the wealth of experience that has gone into their manufacture, have paid off handsomely for Cold Steel as they have generated quite a following among law enforcement and military personnel around the world. This is because they offer big knife cutting and piercing potential in a very compact, easily portable size, and, unlike a revolver or semi automatic pistol, they never break, malfunction, or run out of ammunition.
Designed by Lynn C. Thompson, the Safe Make push knifes are, without doubt, the finest commercially made push knives in the world. The blade, shaft, and T shaped tang are all drop forged from one piece of AUS-8 Stainless Steel. This process, though costly, eliminates any unwanted sharp edges or surfaces that would irritate the hand or fingers when the knife is clasped in a closed fist, and it produces a better knife, since the subsequent vacuum heat treatment and sub zero quench, renders the blades virtually unbreakable.
Well made blades deserve equally well-made grips. A lot of time and energy went into the production of our T shaped handles. Made of shock absorbing Kray-Ex they totally encapsulate the tang and part of the shaft so they can be comfortably and securely grasped in the fist with the blade jutting out between the fingers and used to deliver absolutely devastating punching and slashing blows.
Each Safe Maker includes an easily concealable and sturdy Secure-Ex boot/belt sheath and a steel bead chain lanyard so it can be worn as a neck knife. An optional horizontal carry tactical belt sheath is available, this is in addition to the standard sheath (shown above) which is included. My EDC awesome push dagger!
I mounted this to the shoulder strap of my hiking pack. It is light and sharp and easily accessible.
Mine is razor sharp. Couple sketchy areas on the trail where I ride the bicycle. Peace of mind for sure.
I have one with a leather sheath and one with a Kydex Sheath. The handles are still good after more than 25 years!
Wow! What a wicked blade. Sharp both sides and what feels like a perfect grip. My hands are large but grip is still comfortable. I believe this Punch dagger would be a great means of defense. Would be tough to disarm somebody armed with one of these. It's a keeper.

Quality is very good. Edge is decent, and the most important part, the tip, is needle-sharp. Sheath is secure, no rattles. It's neither too difficult nor too easy to withdraw the knife, or to re-sheath it.
These are perfect, unopened Cold Steel Safe Makers. Priced fairly, arrived on time and the order was complete and undamaged. What more you could ask out of an online retailer. Really nice knife! My only beef is that the sheath should come with the option of wearing it on the belt. I resolved this shortfall by purchasing optional the small C-CLip and fastening it to the sheath. That is the reason I only gave it four stars. Other than that the knife is fantastic and I highly recommend it.

This is a very well made push blade. It is plenty sharp and the sheath is tight fitting so there is no possibility of the blade being release on accident but is still easily accessible when needed. I would recommend this blade for use as a backup self-defense weapon. Check your local and state codes for legality before ordering and carrying.

Very concealable dagger, small enough for a confortable carrying, excelent for self defense and easy to deploy when needed, it's very sharp, VERY SHARP. The grip is well made for small to medium hands, and the kraton makes it very easy to handle. The only problem with the product is the chain included with the dagger, it's a little too weak and it will break easily if you pull the dagger out of your neck. I recommend to buy an arkansas stone or other sharpening product, because the secure ex-sheath with the time destroys the edge, so you need to keep it sharp. Thanks to the OsoGrandeKnives team for bringing this excellent product and technical support.

I have had one of the old Safe Maker II's for years and love it. When I saw the price on the new model I bought another one. This one is better than ever. Highly recommend

Good for women as something compact and handy. Got one for my girlfriend, she chained it to her purse. She really likes it and feels it she can defend herself just in case.

This little push dagger/neck knife is just what I was looking for. The only bad thing I have to say about this knife has nothing to do with the knife , it's the chain that comes with it . I recommend you use a pc of nylon cord or leather as this chain will pull apart while trying to pull the knife out of the sheath while around your neck, just put it in the trash where it belongs. Great little knife!
