Easily the nicest hatchet I have ever owned or seen. Apart from passing muster as a piece of craft of the highest order, it sits in the hand extremely well. Properly balanced, properly beveled and sharpened. Great tool for finesse work like carving. Very comfortable when gripped up high near the head as well. I am thrilled.

Incredibly beautiful work of art. Fine craftsmanship that will last several lifetimes if taken care of. Definitely worth the money.

I've only have this for a few weeks and it is already one of my favorites. The handle must be the most comfortable design I've ever used! The palm swell actually tightens your grip as you swing. The grind seems to be a good compromise between felling and splitting which is what you want in a camp hatchet. It arrived with a shaving sharp edge and stayed that way so far, although I was only cutting green pine tree limbs and splitting a couple of nights worth of wood for a hot tent. The hatchet will come in a wooden box laying on a bed of reindeer fur (which I will likely use for fly tying material). It is supplied with a diamond hone and black leather axe head cover. If they decided to make a damascus version I'd buy another one. If you are looking for an heirloom quality hatchet that will last your life and then some, you have found it. Highly recommended!
