This Classic Yankee Hatchet measures in at 19.75 inches overall with a 3.75 inch cutting edge and 6.00 inch carbon steel axe head. The handle is made from American Hickory wood and includes a leather lanyard. 2.0lb head. Rubber blade protector. Bulk packed. The Prandi Vintage Line includes high-quality cutting and splitting tools. Among the tools are axes, hatchets, wedges, woodcutting tools with high carbon steel inspired by traditional cutting and splitting tools from Scandinavia. The blades are accurately tempered with oil and later placed under further tempering treatment, hardening at a density between 47 and 55 HRC. The taping of the blade, made by hand with grained flap wheels, favors the movement of the blade through wood, reducing the amount of surface friction and increasing the efficiency of the cut. The sharpening, also completed by hand, guarantees a better performance of cutting of any type of wood, even more knotty woods.
