Butterfly knives, often known as balisongs are two handled knives which counter rotate around the tang so that when closed, the blade conceals in the handle. A competent user can get the blade out of the handles quickly with some very basic handle flips. It is usually best to start out with a lighter knife and then after achieving a reasonable skill level, order one with a heavier handle.
