Yawara Stick 2-Pack Set (Includes Koga SD1 and Mini-Koga SD2 Polymer Palm Sticks)

This two-piece Yawara Stick set was designed by Bob Koga and manufactured by Cold Steel. These polymer hand batons are made of single-piece, high-impact, structural nylon polymer, and are designed to function as an aid in leverage when restraining an individual, and obtaining joint locks or submission holds. Both of these hand batons also serve as admirable "intermediate impact tools". Law enforcement professionals often face a perplexing dilemma when contemplating employing fist or baton blows. Blows struck with the fist may be too weak, or worse, result in a broken hand, while blows struck with a baton may be too powerful resulting in grave injury. Two solutions however, are the Cold Steel Koga SD1 and SD2 - these Yaware sticks bridge the gap by concentrating and magnifying the effect of hand blows while minimizing the likelihood of permanent injury.

The late Bob Koga remains an icon in the world of self-defense and law enforcement. An Air Force Veteran and LAPD Officer, with extensive Martial Arts training in Judo, Wrestling, Jiu Jitsu, Jo Do and Aikido, he became an outspoken proponent of the merits of the straight baton as opposed to the PR24 or side handle baton.

The larger Yawara Stick (Cold Steel Koga SD1) is 1.20" thick, with an overall length of 7.50" and a weight of 4.1 ounces.

The slightly smaller Yawara Stick (Cold Steel Mini-Koga SD2) is 1.0" thick, with an overall length of 6 1/2" and a weight of 2.1 ounces.
