Superficially, the Cold Steel Sharkie pen shares many features common to most markers, but appearances can be deceptive. For starters, it's made from the glass-reinforced plastic, Grivory, the same tough material used in the Cold Steel Nightshade™ series, and features walls that are 4 times thicker than similar markers. This means it's built for impact and, in a self-defense emergency it can become an efficient Yawara stick for driving off an attacker. Plus, the screw-top cap will stay in place and won't pop off like a regular marker's cap would when you strike a percussion blow, or when obtaining joint locks or submission holds. It's easy to carry too. Just clip it to a shirt or coat pocket, or carry in your purse, pack or brief case. Don't spend another day without one!

The Pocket Shark is pretty awesome and tough, same size I believe as the mini Koga. I think that the mini Koga may be a hair more effective being it has a better grip and more concentrated points of impact but it's easier to explain a marker in your pocket then a yawara stick. For what it is plus how inexpensive it is definitely 5 stars
Good. But not as great as old version. Old version still writing after 8 years too! Made it through TSA suitcase seach. Officer held it and gave it back for carry on.
Looks just like a Sharpie marker but it is much bigger in diameter. Carried one of these across the world. about 20 times and NEVER had any trouble. I RECOMMEND these for discreet carry with other pens (metal) for a genuine tool for self-defense if it's ever needed.
Love it works great and is light and very strong. Makes a good tool to defend your self with you cannot go wrong with this.

Cool HUMONGOUS sharky pen...practiced on a dummy and it could really do some damage if you wanted to get your point across really quik…really sturdy and firm and the shark face is cool.
Very good material plastic and ink. I still use it after 4 years every thing working smoothly.
