A shorter, lighter model appropriately named the Blackthorn Shillelagh. Modeled after an ancient cudgel in Lynn C. Thompson’s private collection, the Blackthorn Shillelagh mimics the look, feel and balance of the original, but made from high-impact polymer that will withstand even the harshest weather conditions.
With a handsome bark-like wood texture and raised clipped thorns on the shaft, and a highly polished faux-wood head, this good looking stick will be sure to turn heads -- whether it is carried under your arm at a historical re-enactment event, or simply hung by the door to greet uninvited guests.

Nicely balanced and fun to handle. Up close you can surely tell that it's not actually wood, but It looks real enough for stage, costume, etc. Wrap your fingers around the thorns for a solid purchase on the stick. If you find that one of the thorns is digging into your hand, it can be quickly shaved down with a Dremel making the grip easily customizable. This baby has some weight to it. Swinging it around at home might help you to get your strength back if life under pandemic warnings has caused you to stop exercising. Be careful sparring with friends, you don't want to actually hit somebody with it (ouch).
