CRKT TPENWK Williams Tactical Pen, Non-Reflective Black Aluminum. To everyone else they're stylish writing instruments designed with all of the fine qualities you would expect in a nice pen, but to you they're more than that. Former Army officer and martial arts instructor, James Williams applied his design expertise to the Williams tactical pen. For those of you familiar with the Hissatsu and the Hisshou, this new James Williams design is sure to be a welcome addition to your defensive edged tools.

A clean, futuristic interpretation of one of mankind's basic tools, the tactical pen is a high-tech writing instrument that can be used as a self-defense enforcer if need be. Made from precision-machined aluminum and hard-coat color anodized, they offer long lasting durability and toughness. Available in non-reflective tactical black finish. The tapered body improves grip while adding a contemporary look.

With some basic instruction or knowledge, one can readily use the kubotan pens against an assailant or attacker to inflict notice, pain or injury--thwarting an otherwise potentially defenseless act. And, these kubaton self-defense pens are just plain great writing instruments as well.

As a woman traveling solo, it was important for me to find something that I could protect myself with between the airport and hotel when arriving at a destination (and throughout the trip). I can safely say, at least in my experience with 3 different airports on 2 different trips, this made it through each time without issue. I clipped it to a hard-sided journal notebook with the pen ink side exposed so it looked less like a tactical pen. Unlike other tactical pens I've owned, the cap actually DOES screw on to the end of the pen which is great. It writes well and has a good feel in your hand. Definitely a new staple for me and comes in a cute little zipper pouch as well.

This pen has all of the capabilities of any of the other top-market aluminum tactical pens, without the 'scary' tactical appearance. Can't go wrong with a Fisher Space insert, I prefer a removable cap like this rather than a screwed cap, twist pen, or clicker. The clip is rather stiff, but it does not interfere with ergonomics and is not uncomfortable when holding the pen in a defensive position. Great pen for the money.
